I hope that you all had an amazing spring break. I know that I will (as I write this before I leave for break). When we return from Spring Break we will take a short look at the expectations of each student in my class and what they need to be doing each day. We’ll also take a “looky-lou” at what the Sage test might look like so we aren’t super suprised when we take it in another month.

We’ll review what has happened in our novels. 8th graders will be reviewing for a test on Tuesday and the rest of the week we’ll go over writing how-to’s with a really developed box outline due on Wednesday. We’ll also get on line and take a Block test (which let’s me know Standards I need to readdress before End of Levels).

9th graders will review and then continue reading their novel. We’ll go online, just like the 8th graders, and take a Block test to also assess where the students are at compared to the Standards I am charged with teaching.

The week after, we’ll begin our End of Level (Sage) writing portion of the test. It’ll look a lot like the DWA (I think) but we will not be doing it in block schedule. It will take some time, as my students take their time and do their best, but it’ll show the world how brilliant the students at SAA are and I’m really excited to show off their talents!

As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
