This week, we have Parent Teacher Conferences, I hope to see you all there.
In 8th and 9th, we are gong over writing traits and the how-to’s of writing to address a prompt. We are also in the midst of reading our novels. They are getting good. Ask your student for their ideas of what they are reading. We will have a test a week in To Kill a Mockingbird and a paper a week as well. In 8th grade, we will have a paper a week.
NEXT WEEK! We will be taking the Direct Writing Assessment in our 8th grade classes. We will have A/B schedule. Please make sure that your students gets sleep and eats breakfast… It is a long test. I encourage students to TAKE their time on this test, it does matter for both the students and for us, the teachers. It helps us understand what we need to change for next year and tells us what holes the students might have in their education.
