We are testing this week! While I am nervous, as always when my students test, I am not nervous for how hard they’ll try. They have been writing wonderful papers all year long for me and if they incorporate any of that work into their writing portion of the test, they’ll do amazing!
We are NOT doing block testing this week which can be advantageous and negatively impact our students at the same time. A positive, they do not have to do it all in one sitting, so they get breaks and time to breathe. A negative is that by the time that they log in and at the end of class putting their things away, we have less than 30 minutes each day to work and in that time they’ll have to review whatever they did the day before and then figure out how to continue on it.
We will begin reviewing concepts after we finish the testing! 9th graders will finish To Kill A Mockingbird when their tests are done as well.
I am encouraging each and every student to take their time and do their very best, for so many reasons. I am proud of them and their hard work already. You have amazing students.
