L.A.: This week we will be reading the story “Kensuke’s Kingdom”. We will be doing Reader’s Notebook pages 99-105.
Here are this week’s vocabulary words. For this week’s assignment, they will be able to choose any 5 of the 10 to do for the practice sheet. Our focus skill is denotation and connotation; denotation being the dictionary definition of the word, and connotation being whether or not the word has a positive or negative meaning, depending on the context it’s used.

It is time for us to continue on zooming into our planet. We aren’t quite leaving space, but we are looking a little closer at our planet as we begin our Moon Phases and Seasons unit. We will be taking the unit pretest on Monday, watching a Bill Nye video on Tuesday, and then close reading a book on the moon for the remainder of the week.
