Science Fair Judging

Each year, our science fair seems to grow and improve as we figure things out.  We have reworked how things are judged.  If you are interested in seeing how the students will be judged this year, I am uploading a copy of the judging sheet.  It could be useful in the guiding the students through their process.

When it comes time to put together the board for the actual fair, here is a very basic example of  how you could arrange your board.

There are somethings on there that we haven’t spent a whole lot of time talking about.  The abstract is just the purpose for doing the experiment, and future directions are things you could try differently if you were to do it another time.  These are things that may help the students score higher, or at least better understand the project.

Below are some examples of some good looking projects.  Notice that they clearly display all the elements of the scientific method.  They are well organized and are all visually appealing.

Mr. Pratt, is it too late to change my science fair question? I searched for resources about my question, but I couldn’t find anything. And if it’s not to late to change my question I have a couple more ideas for it.

I suppose the only day it’s really too late to change your question would be the day of science fair, just realize we’re down to less than two weeks until the actual fair, so you’ll have to work quickly.
