So, a few week’s back I posed an argumentative writing prompt to the students, asking them whether or not we should celebrate Valentine’s Day. I gave them source material to read and cite. I did tell them that these essays would persuade me whether or not to celebrate Valentine’s Day in our class. I can tell you, that the majority of our class gave me a resounding “No!” They would rather we not celebrate this holiday. With that in mind, we will not be. Here are a few of the more eloquently written essays, which persuaded me to make this decision.
