Welcome to the Performance Theatre class for Spring 2014! We are so excited that our class will be working together to put on The Little Mermaid, Jr. Our show will run April 30, May 1 & 2.
Participation in the class carries a large responsibility. You are expected to follow directions. Good behavior, positive use of time, and attendance in class/rehearsals is mandatory.
You are asked to keep your schedule open/flexible from January 24th until May 2nd , when the show closes. You will be given a schedule for rehearsals outside of class time. Primarily we will meet during Advanced Theatre class time. You may be asked to rehearse during Advisory Period (3:00 to 3:30) depending on teacher permission. This year, the primary practice time outside of class will be on Fridays from 1 until 2:30 PM, and some Fridays would be later when you are notified in advance. There will be some afterschool rehearsals on Monday through Thursday scheduled as we get closer to the show. Prepare yourself that during the week before the show April 25-April 29 you will be expected to be at EVERY rehearsal. (This should be a Friday rehearsal after school until at least 4PM and then that Monday and Tuesday immediately after school until we have completed the dress rehearsal each o f those days). You are expected to be present. Your attendance will affect your grade. Behavior and absences from class/rehearsals can result in you being removed from roles and/or the class. You are not allowed to miss class/rehearsals without prior permission from the director. Parents should email me at mburke@syracuseartsacademy.org or text me to notify me when a student plans to miss CLASS or REHEARSAL so that I may be able to reschedule rehearsal plans/times as necessary.
