At long last, several parts of the Jazz Reading Contest have come to fruition. First came on Thursday. Remember back, Mrs. Lawrence’s class had challenged us to see who could read the most minutes. The winning class got to choose something the losing teacher had to do. Well, let’s just say they read A LOT of minutes. They decided that I needed to wear a tutu for a day. I agreed so long as they supplied the tutu. Well, one of Mrs. Lawrence’s students finally brought one in on Thursday. You may have seen me at carpool sporting my tutu… like a champ!
The other bit is something that Mrs. J wanted to give to her fifth and sixth graders as a reward for how well they did. It was a surprise to them as they had no idea that it was coming, hence, why referred to it as the Hush, hush assembly. Mrs. J was able to get the Jazz Flyers and Jazz Bear to come and visit the school. Here’s a few pictures from their demonstration.
This one is the flyers and bear with our top readers.
After the flyers and bear had to go, we continued to keep the excitement up with several different games. Here are some pictures from those.
And then last, but certainly not least… the last thing the flyers did before they left was got our own Fantastic Mrs. J involved. As she tells the story, as the bear called her out, she was thinking he wanted a hug or high five… well, here’s how wrong she was!
