Dragon Knights
Mar 20th, 2014 by Terri McGuire
SAA sixth grade students may choose to accept The Knighthood Challenge and earn the right to become an SAA Dragon Knight. The Knighthood Challenge is a series of tasks and quests, which candidates must complete to the best of their ability in a timely manner.
All 6th graders are eligible, but only a few have the perseverance and stamina to achieve the level of knighthood. Dragon Knights are recognized on the knighthood shield which hangs in our hallway and earn special privileges.
The 2015 Knighthood Challenge will begin in January 2015. At that time, the challenge will be explained to all 6th graders and they will receive a packet of tasks and quests. The challenge packet will be posted on this blog page, and an email will be sent to parents to announce that the challenge has begun.
Students will have 2 months to complete the challenge, which includes tasks such as “setting an academic goal with your teacher’s help and achieving that goal”, or ”creating an action log which demonstrates the tenants of chivalry.”
We sixth grade teachers believe that The Knighthood Challenge promotes good citizenship, honorable behaviors, academic excellence, persistence and stamina.

Thank you so much for creating the first annual Dragon Knights! My daughter, Chloe, loved every minute of it. I have sent the video of her being knighted to grandparents. They are very impressed with the level that SAA teachers are involved. This was a great experience. Thank you so much!
