SHELL PROJECT, Lines and Value (Using contour hatching & cross hatching)
Start: Feb. 18, 2018. Finish: Feb. 26.
First create, on 6”x9” paper, the representation of an object. This time we are using Sea Shells. Incorporate two principles of design into your drawing. Block in the basic shape very lightly with pencil. Measure with your pencil, and get the correct placement and proportion. Then lightly draw it with contour lines. Draw the contour hatching and contour cross hatching, as well as applying “light logic”, to create a greater feeling of (implied) form.
Art Foundations 1: Ink in the defining lines with a black ultra fine sharpie. Erase the pencil. Use standard oil pastels for color, as shown in class.
Art Foundations 2: Ink in the defining lines with fine point colored ink pens (nibs and holders). Never mix colors and clean pens before using a different color. Use some analogous colors next to each other somewhere in this project. Erase the pencil marks.
