Art foundations 2 will be learning the process of Sumi-e and making plum branches with blossoms using the ink on paper technique. Both traditional and bone style Sumi-e will be demonstrated in class. Color needs to be on the final work.
The Sumi-e process in class includes meditative ink grinding, as well as practice work to show improvement. Read “sumi-e, good design” for more information.
We will learn about the four seasons, or gentlemen. They are the orchid, bamboo, plum branches, and chrysanthemum.
